Acentia and AnyPresence Partner to Drive Federal Government Mobile Innovation

01/21/2014

Acentia, a premier provider of technology and management solutions to public sector healthcare and Federal Government civilian customers, today announced a partnership with AnyPresence, a leading enterprise mobile development platform. The strategic alliance aims to support government modernization efforts and enables government agencies to quickly build and maintain secure enterprise-class mobile and web apps with reduced risk, improved process efficiency, and at a lower total cost of ownership.

The U.S. government has chartered mobile innovators, like Acentia and AnyPresence, to help transform and modernize agencies through an effort called “Mobile Gov.” Public sector apps and mobile websites are developing exponentially. Data.gov reports 137 government mobile apps and over 400 Government Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) have been developed. Early apps provided new ways for agencies to engage citizens while providing higher levels of customer satisfaction, lowering call center costs, and leveraging government data stores.

More recently, the government has begun to focus on employee-facing apps to improve productivity, streamline workflows, and support telework. Agencies with early public-facing government apps and mobile websites include: U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), the Department of Labor (DOL), and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

“Acentia provides a wide range of leading-edge mobile apps to our diverse Federal customers—customers that require full source code access, deployment flexibility, and rigorous security features,” said Dr. Tom Woteki, Chief Architect & SVP Strategy and Solutions at Acentia. “The AnyPresence mBaaS solution enables us to meet these requirements and to efficiently deliver our solutions across a variety of platforms. AnyPresence is a tremendous complement to the Acentia innovation model.”

Acentia’s government clients and in-house developers can now leverage the AnyPresence platform to build complex enterprise apps leveraging multiple data sources and legacy systems, drawing on prebuilt integration to systems like SAP, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle, and to authentication and mobile services. The AnyPresence platform uniquely generates native, human-readable code for complete UI customization across multiple platforms, such as iOS, Android, HTML5, Windows 8 Phone, and Java, and enables cloud or on-premise deployment.

“AnyPresence is excited to be the platform that powers Acentia’s new Mobility Center of Excellence to support government mobile requirements,” said Susan Miller, Chief Business Development and Strategy Officer at AnyPresence. “This partnership extends our world-class mobile and web app development platform and backend-as-a-service capabilities to the public sector through Acentia’s long-standing customer relationships. We are thrilled to have Acentia as a trusted partner, to access their top tier technology talent, and delighted to work with a local Washington D.C. neighbor.”

With both companies headquartered in the Washington, D.C. area, the proximity between Acentia and AnyPresence will enable close collaboration with customers and in the Acentia Solutions Lab.
