MAVA Corporate Tech Member Acentia Acquires Fredericksburg-based InSysCo

Acentia, a Falls Church-based provider of technology and management consulting services to the federal government, said it has acquired Fredericksburg-based InSysCo, a provider of IT services focused on finance to federal clients. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Danielle Johnson, the president of InSysCo, will join Acentia as senior vice president and sector executive, leading the company's new financial services sector. Todd Stottlemyer, the CEO of Acentia, said the acquisition "significantly strengthens Acentia's software development and IT systems modernization capabilities -- key growth areas for the company -- for financial services and other customers." This marks the second time in three years InSysCo has been acquired. It was bought by GTSI in 2011, before that company, itself, was acquired by California-based Unicom Systems last year. Acentia's financial services sector customers include the IRS, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Treasury Department.
