Chevy Chase-Based NEA Increases Investment in Pluribus Networks

New Enterprise Associates (NEA), the Chevy Chase-based venture capital firm, said it has increased its investment in Silicon Valley-based Pluribus Networks, a maker of hardware-accelerated network virtualization tools for datacenters. The investment was part of the company's $23 million third round, led by Menlo Ventures. Pluribus's platform for fabric-based computing is designed to let apps move into the network and serve both physical and virtual network infrastructure. Founded in 2010, the company also raised $17.5 million in a round that closed in April 2011.
