D.C. startup Betterific has launched a partnership with the Washington Wizards this week to crowdsource innovative ideas from fans to improve their game-watching experience. Between Wednesday March 19 through Friday March 28, Betterific will invite Wizards fans to its platform to give their opinions on how to innovate fan experiences with the chance to win free tickets for the best ideas.
Betterific simply "crowdsources innovation," according to co-founder and CEO Micha Weinblatt. "It brings together brands and consumers to think creatively how to make experiences, products and brands better."
For Wizards management, this is a priceless opportunity to engage with the community they serve.
"It's an opportunity for them to listen to their fans and engage with their fans over innovation and creativity and imagination to really pull out ideas that they can start implementing in the next season – so it's things they can work on over the offseason," Weinblatt said.
Recently the startup began bringing brands on board to run what they call Innovation Challenges. This Wizards partnership is an example of that. A few months back, Betterific ran a similar campaign with the Washington Nationals. Likewise, the goal was to implement them over the offseason for the upcoming start of the 2014 season.
