AnyPresence Strengthens Heroku Partnership for Enterprise Backend-as-a-Service Deployments

06/24/2013

AnyPresence, the leading enterprise backend-as-a-service platform, today announced that it has enhanced its partnership with Heroku, a platform-as-a-service owned by Salesforce.com. The general availability of AnyPresence’s latest release* now enables customers to deploy and manage individual cloud-based deployments of their backend services on Heroku right from within the AnyPresence Designer.

“Developers within IT organizations are under pressure to deliver enterprise apps at a faster pace than ever before,” said Rakesh Rao, CTO and Co-Founder of AnyPresence. “Our partnership with Heroku enables developers to spend more time on app functionality, eliminating costly resources and time typically required to set up scalable server infrastructure for development, test, and production environments. Enterprise apps can be deployed in seconds to a highly-scalable cloud platform.”

While apps developed on the AnyPresence platform can be deployed to any server infrastructure, customers can take advantage of instant deployment to Heroku’s cloud platform by default. Each deployment of the backend server gets a dedicated stack, which can be scaled independently and dynamically based on app usage and workload characteristics. Over a dozen AnyPresence customers are already taking advantage of this service, which now provides the added convenience of managing server resources for scalability and performance, including Heroku’s new “2X dynos”, from a central location. Administrators also have access to hundreds of available Heroku add-ons that can be installed from the AnyPresence Designer.

“The Heroku API allows for unlimited creativity,” said Nicolas Pujol, VP Business Development for Heroku. “Developers are rapidly taking advantage of it to build new functionality from single sign-on to add-on services or backend-as-a-service platforms like AnyPresence.”
