Center for Innovative Technology Invests in Arlington-based CirrusWorks

07/10/2013
The Herndon-based Center for Innovative Technology (CIT) said on Wednesday it has invested an unspecified amount in Arlington-based CirrusWorks, a developer of network control platforms designed to help IT managers more efficiently run local area networks. The investment came from CIT's GAP Funds, which make seed-stage equity investments in Virginia-based technology, clean tech and life sciences companies. CirrusWorks makes software that helps IT managers control access, data consumption and resource allocation, allowing them to better handle the explosion of data use on their networks. Co-founders David Giannini and Michael Lovett said they will use the funds to "expand our market presence, drive product development and help bring some sanity to an increasingly chaotic data management world."
