CIT Invests $100,000 in Reston-Based Kaprica Security

The Herndon-based Center for Innovative Technology (CIT) said on Monday it has invested $100,000 in Reston-based mobile security startup Kaprica Security, developer of a smartphone charger providing security for Android devices. The investment came from CIT's GAP Funds, which make seed-stage equity investments in Virginia-based technology, clean tech and life sciences companies. Kaprica's Skorpion charger, which replaces a stock charger, plugs in through a USB port and scans the device's operating system and apps while simultaneously charging the unit.
