New Atlantic Ventures does a flurry of deals

Over the past week, the Reston- and Cambridge, Mass.-based venture capital firm has been part of funding announcements for Of Course Meals, Truveris and Yieldbot. And it plans to announce another deal at South By Southwest next month, said founder and Managing Partner John Backus.
Those deals range in size from from seed level all the way up to the $10 million Series B for Truveris Inc., a New York-based pharmacy benefits software startup. That round was led by New Leaf Venture Partners   .
Ad tech company Yieldbot Inc., also based in New York, last week said it raised a $4.2 million Series A led by New Atlantic Ventures. Cambridge-based Of Course Meals (legally: Peace Meals Inc.) allows its customers to select from a series of weekly menu options and home-delivers the ingredients. That seed round came in at "a couple hundred thousand" dollars, according to the Boston Globe.
There nothing particularly special about the close timing of all those announcements, said Backus. He attributes NAV’s unusually prolific stretch to better – though not necessarily more – companies getting in front of the venture fund.
“We like the quality of what we’re seeing out there,” he said.
