Arlington cloud firm raises $10 million
Arlington-based Internet cloud security provider Distil Networks has raised $10 million in early stage funding, the company announced last week.
Distil, which detects and blocks automated cyberthreats called “bots,” raised the funding round from investors including the Foundry Group and Techstars’ Bullet Time Ventures, among others.
“This round of funding will allow us to not only be proactive in combating new threats, but will allow us to grow the company and further expand upon our technology to make the web a safer place,” Rami Essaid, chief executive and co-founder of Distil Networks, said in a statement.
Founded in 2011, the 25-person company expects to double its head count in the next seven months, according to Distil.
