MAVA Member Invincea Raises $10 Million, MAVA Members Harbert Vetures, ORIX & Comerica Participate

Invincea, the Fairfax-based cybersecurity firm that uses machine learning to detect malware, said on Wednesday it has raised $10 million in a new round of funding. ORIX Growth Capital and Comerica Bank joined previous backers Dell Ventures, New Atlantic Ventures and Harbert Ventures in the round, which the company will use to accelerate its growth. Anup Ghosh, Invincea’s founder and CEO, said the company will use the proceeds to help “scale the business across core verticals and markets where we are seeing significant traction” for its antivirus security product, X by Invincea.” The platform is designed to stop unknown malware, ransomware and file-less malware better than traditional antivirus tools.
