Maximus, a Reston-based operator of government health and human services programs, said on Tuesday it has acquired Ascend Management Innovations, a provider of specialized health assessments and data management tools to government agencies. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. “This acquisition broadens our ability to help our government clients deal with the rising demand for long-term care services,” said CEO Richard Montoni. In addition to skilled clinical services, Ascend also provides states with data management tools to help government agencies plan, budget and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Maximus expects the company to contribute approximately $13 million in revenue for the remainder of its fiscal year ending Sept. 30.
