MAVA Member Palidan Capital Leads PhishMe’s $42.5 Million Third Round

PhishMe, a Leesburg-based developer of technology designed to prevent online phishing threats, said on Wednesday it has raised $42.5 million in its third round of funding, led by DC-based Paladin Capital, a previous backer in the company. Bessemer Venture Partners also participated in the round, which the company will use to bolster its research and development teams and expand further into Europe and Asia. “This strategic funding will put us in a position to drive further innovation in email security and phishing defense strategies, as well as explore inorganic growth opportunities,” said co-founder and CEO Rohyt Belani. PhishMe’s platform is designed to train employees in cybersecurity by conditioning them to recognize and report malicious phishing emails. The company has more than 250 full-time employees, as well as a customer base that include nearly half of the Fortune 100.
